Thailand Itinerary- Exploring the Islands of Thailand
Day 1: Sail along the west coast of Koh Chang, the second largest island in
Thailand. It is part of the Koh Chang National Park, a group of more than 50 islands.
The park is new and virtually unknown to the outside world. The few that know its
secret wonders boldly call it "the last paradise islands in Southeast Asia”. Enjoy
lunch on one of its magnificent beaches. Inland, a vast tropical rainforest covers
75% of the island and is home to a great variety of wildlife.
Day 2: Sail through the national park to one of the small islands of Koh Rang,
where scattered reefs provide a haven for a variety of soft and hard corals, which in
turn, attract colorful tropical marine life. Anchor for lunch and an opportunity to
swim and snorkel in this living aquarium. Later, continue sailing on to Koh Kut,
where we will spend the night.
Day 3:The last group of islands in Thai waters, the Ko Kut archipelago, is less
well known, hence, less visited than Koh Chang. Ko Kut's splendid waterfall, Nam
Tok Khlong Chao, is one of the most striking spots on the island. The waterfall is
made up of 3 tiers; the upper two tiers are running streams and the lower one is a
large pond, perfect for swimming. After visiting the waterfall, explore a mangrove
swamp by kayak. Late afternoon, we will sail to Koh Wai or Koh Kham to anchor for
the night.
Day 4:Take advantage of the crystal clear waters for one last chance to
explore thepristine reefs which abound here. Enjoy a leisurely lunch as you sail
back to the island of Koh Chang. Congratulate yourself on taking time to enjoy a
charter here, and question your sanity as to why you only took 4 days rather than 14!
