Day
1: Fly to Isla Baltra, the main
airport of the Galapagos and board your yacht. Depart
for Isla North Seymour, lying just off the northern
tip of Galtra. This is where blue-footed boobies nest,
sea lions frolic and is home to the largest colony of
frigate birds in the Galapagos.
Day 2:
Visit the Isla Espanola, the only place in the world
where the waved albatross nests. A rugged island with
rocky outcroppings, sea cliff and a blowhole that spews
water up to 75' when the surf rushes in, you’ll
not want to return to the boat!
Day 3:
A day of learning on Isla Santa Cruz. Home to the Charles
Darwin Research Station, this is a chance to visit the
Rearing Center for giant tortoises and learn more about
island conservation and the ongoing research done here.
Day 4:
You will be visiting Isla Bartolome today. Resembling
the surface of the moon, Isla Bartolome features lava
tubes, tuff cones, and spectacular views from the famed
Pinnacle Rock.
Day 5:
Spend the morning on fascinating Isla Isabela with its
Darwin’s finches, seabirds, and a 5,600 foot volcano.
Next, you will visit Isla Fernandina, with the La Cumbre
Volcano, home to the largest colony of marine iguanas,
plus flightless cormorants.
Day 6: Today,
think Color! The beaches of Isla Rabida are formed from
oxidized lava, making them an unmistakable red hue.
Adding to the vivid tones of this island are its collection
of flamingos, sea lions and palo santo trees.
Day 7:
Did you write postcards? Bring them with you today,
as you will be visiting Isla Santa Maria, with its Post
Office Bay. This historical site is where an 18th century
whaling crew placed the wooden barrel that is still
in use today as a post office!
Day 8: Return
to Isla Baltra for your return flight to Quito. This
is the point where you want to change your ticket and
do the whole trip all over again. So go ahead, do it!
