Exploring the Bahamas: Nassau to George
Town
Day 1: Enjoy
the sensation of landing on water as you arrive to Nassau
via Chalk’s. Minutes away from the Chalk’s terminal
on Paradise Island is Atlantis, where you charter yacht is
docked. Spend the day exploring The Dig and playing in the
water on the many water slides. Sample the casino and the
glittering nightlife of Atlantis.
Day 2: Depart
after breakfast for Highborne Cay. Enjoy a leisurely cruise,
while reading a good book, watching a movie or just lazing
in a deck chair. Have lunch after you arrive, then spend the
afternoon playing on your yachts many water toys.
Day 3: Cruise
on down to Warderick Wells. Part of the Exuma Land and Sea
Park, and falling under the jurisdiction of the Bahamas National
Trust, Warderick Wells is pristine. Because of the strict
regulations (absolutely no fishing), the waters surrounding
it abound with fish and colorful corals. There is a four-mile
hiking trail for those who really want to get away from everyone!
Day 4:
Staniel Cay is the destination for today. Just a short hop
on down the Exuma chain, arriving in plenty of time for a
beach picnic. There are so many wonderful beaches on Staniel
Cay, you are practically guaranteed to have the entire beach
to yourself. Spend the evening at the Staniel Cay Yacht Club,
eating dinner at one of the local restaurants, finishing up
with cocktails and tall tails at the bar at the SCYC.
Day
5: Leave Staniel Cay behind
for the George Town, the largest village in the Exuma Cays.
Explore the town, then take the tender across Elizabeth Harbor
to Stocking Island for an afternoon of snorkeling and exploring.
Back to George Town by twilight, with the difficult choice
of eating on-board or at The Peace and Plenty. Either way,
dance the night away at the jump-up at the Peace and Plenty.
Day 6:
Your captain quietly moves your yacht on down to Flamingo
Bay, two miles south, so the fishermen in your party have
the opportunity to pit their skills against the elusive bonefish
that ghost over the flats. FishiAfter the fishermen return,
head back toward Nassau, stopping at Sampson Cay. The Sampson
Cay Club, with its stone architecture, excellent food and
friendly bar, is a great place to wind up a week of adventures.
Day 7:
Take a lovely short journey back to Palma in time to depart
to the airport on Majorca, where you will catch a flight back
to Ibiza, or simply leave from Palma to your final destination.
